Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Awareness

PTSD is a mental health condition that can develop after exposure to traumatic events such as threat of injury, death, a serious accident, combat, assault, natural disaster, or abuse. Anyone who experiences a traumatic event can develop PTSD, but there are effective treatments that can help people experiencing PTSD. Service members and members of the military community who may be experiencing PTSD should reach out, get help, and get better.
