The Center for the Intrepid

The Center for the Intrepid is a four-story, 65,000-square-foot, circular building where doctors, therapists, technicians, and specialists provide advanced rehabilitative care to service members recovering from amputations and other catastrophic injuries. The $55 million, publicly-funded center, opened adjacent to Brooke Army Medical Center on Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Jan. 29, 2007. CFI offers a vast array of services to include military performance lab, occupational therapy, physical therapy, prosthetics, case management and behavioral medicine. Yokota Sustains 24/7 Air Medical Transport

The 459th Airlift Squadron performed a trial run of a new readiness posture for medical transport on Dec. 18, aiming to offer 24/7 airlift support, streamlining the patient transfers from the 374th Medical Group at Yokota Air Base, Japan, to other medical facilities in the region.

Brooke Army Medical Center Doctors Earn Army Surgeon General's Recognition

She was recently awarded the Army Surgeon General Physician Recognition Award, which recognizes military leadership and academic excellence and is presented annually for outstanding leadership in military and academic medicine. The Army Surgeon General annually recognizes outstanding Army Medical Corps officers for their leadership and academic excellence. This year, TSG singled out two officers from Brooke Army Medical Center during the Physician Recognition Award Ceremony, Nov. 14, 2023, at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Bethesda, Maryland.
