Deputy Assistant Director, Resource & Personnel Integration
Mr. Ronald A. Hamilton is the Deputy to the Assistant Director of Resources and Personnel Integration (AD, R&PI), in the Defense Health Agency (DHA). As the Deputy Assistant Director, he ensures comprehensive joint force medical readiness, and enables quality healthcare delivery across the Military Healthcare System (MHS), by leading the development of manpower and personnel requirements and resource prioritization and allocation for the agency. He advises in the development of models, techniques, and capabilities and leads in the analysis and evaluation of structural requirements, plans, programs, and strategies to sustain a ready medical force.
Mr. Hamilton has more than 40 years of experience as a Human Resources professional in the Federal government. Prior to his current role, Mr. Hamilton served as the Director of Administration and Management, J-1, and the Chief of the Human Resources Division at DHA. He has also served as the Director of Recruitment and Placement Policy Service within the Department of Veterans Affairs; the Deputy/Executive Officer to the Deputy Chief of Staff for Support, G-1/4/6; and the Director of the Department of Defense Executive Agencies Program in the Office of the Army of the Surgeon General.
A United States Army veteran, Mr. Hamilton faithfully served for 32-years and culminated his distinguished career as a Colonel with an appointment as the Health Services Human Resources Consultant to the Army Surgeon General and Director, Human Resources in the Office of the Surgeon General. His awards and decorations include the Army Medical Department Human Resources “A” Proficiency Designator; Distinguished Service Medal; Legion of Merit (two oak leaf clusters); Meritorious Service Medal (four oak leaf clusters); and the Army Commendation Medal (five oak leaf clusters).
Mr. Hamilton holds two graduate degrees: a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University, and a Master of Science in Health Service Administration from Central Michigan University. His undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Winston Salem State University. He is a Distinguished Member of the Army Medical Department Regiment, belongs to the Order of Military Medical Merit Army Medical Department Regiment, and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
